Programs & Events

We sponsor several events and programs throughout the school year:

6th Grade Celebration

Description: Party for the 6th grade students. Organized and executed by the chairperson who is encouraged to involve the students in the planning of the celebration. Typically preceded by a graduation hosted by the 6th grade teachers and Principal.

Assembly Attractions

Description: School-wide assembly selected by the Principal.

Back-to-School Night

Description: A time for families to come to the school before classes start to drop off supplies, see where their classroom is, and meet their teacher.

Birthday Books

Description: Each month students with a birthday in that month are invited to select a book from the PTA’s inventory.

Book Bingo

Description: Families are invited to play bingo for a chance to win books (purchased with Scholastic Dollars), enter a raffle for various prizes donated by businesses and families, and have some dinner.

Books and Breakfast

Description: Families are invited to the Wake Robin library to enjoy a light breakfast and read a book with their student(s).

Box Tops for Education

Description: Box Tops for Education are turned into the Wake Robin office and collected by the chairperson who prepares and submits them to Box Tops for Education. Box Tops for Education distributes checks once in December and again in April.

BPS PTA/PTSA Council Dues

Description: Each PTA/PTSA unit in BPS is required to pay dues to the BPS PTA/PTSA Council. The amount owed is specified by the BPS PTA/PTSA Council and will be communicated at the BPS PTA/PTSA Council meetings.

BPS Employee Appreciation Day

Description: On this day we show our appreciation for all the BPS employees at Wake Robin.

BPS PTA/PTSA Service to Youth Reception

Description: Reception hosted by the BPS PTA/PTSA Council recognizing individuals nominated by each unit for their service to youth.

Choose Kindness

Description: School-wide campaign to promote kindness.

Classroom Parties

Description: Students are treated to three classroom parties throughout the year. Each party is organized and executed by a parent of a student in that classroom.

Classroom Start-up Funds

Description: The PTA provides each classroom teacher with funds to assist with preparing the classrooms for the new school year.


Description: Communications with Wake Robin families in the form of emails, Twitter updates, and website updates.

Conference Dinner for Faculty and Staff

Description: One night during each Parent/Student/Teacher conference week, the PTA provides dinner to the faculty and staff of Wake Robin. Dinner needs to be ready by 3:00 pm and runs until 8:00 pm. Check with office to see if there are any dietary restrictions that need to be taken into account.

Dine & Donate

Description: Some local restaurants offer a fundraising opportunity in which a percentage of sales during a set date and time are paid to the PTA.

Family Fun Night

Description: During this 2-hour block of time the first floor of the Lied Activity Center is reserved for families of Wake Robin. Families have access to the swimming pools, courts, and games on the first floor of the Lied Activity Center.

Field Day

Description: Students are treated to a day of fun activities organized and executed by the P.E. teacher.

Indoor Recess Games and Activities

Description: To help keep students active during the cold days of winter and wet days of early spring, the PTA provides each classroom with some games and activities.


Description: Each PTA unit is required to carry coverage for activities such as concession stands, car washes, t-shirt sales, fun runs, carnivals and other parent group sponsored activities.

K.I.N.D. Club

Description: Student group for grades K-3. The PTA helps with the cost of T-Shirts and an annual subscription to Kind News a bimonthly magazine published by The Humane Society of the United States.

Kindergarten Orientation

Description: During Kindergarten Orientation, entering kindergarten students and their families are invited to Wake Robin to see the school, meet the kindergarten teachers, and get information on lunch accounts, transportation, etc. The PTA has a table at the event and offers a cookie and book to each entering kindergarten student.

Marcus Theatres

Description: Marcus Theatres offers a fundraising program where various ticket options can be purchased and the PTA keeps a percentage of the sales. Marcus Theatres will ship one order per month for free.


Description: Each month (except December) board members host a general meeting for faculty, staff, and Wake Robin families to discuss things going on at the school.


Description: The Wake Robin PTA offers memberships to the National PTA which not only provide some cost savings at various retailers but only PTA members can vote on PTA matters.

Operation Read

Description: A BPS contest where students answer questions about the Golden Sower books they have been reading and studying all school year. The PTA sponsors the T-Shirts worn by the participating students and faculty.

Penguin Patch Holiday Shoppe

Description: Students have the opportunity to purchase gifts in a shop setup in the Wake Robin library run by parent volunteers.

Popcorn Day

Description: Students have the opportunity to purchase popcorn prepared by Parent volunteers.

Reading at the Ranch

Description: Wake Robin reserves a campfire site at the Bellevue Berry and Pumpkin Ranch, arranges for some guest readers to read around the campfire, and provides a light dinner (i.e. hot dogs, drinks, s’mores). Families pay their own admission. The PTA pays the guest(s) admission.

Safety Patrol

Description: Students participating in Safety Patrol help at crosswalks. The PTA provides financial support for the needs of the Safety Patrol.
